One of my colleagues penned the following letter to Senator Elizabeth Warren after hearing her speak at a credit union conference. Senator Warren has expressed concern for the need to further regulate overdraft protection/courtesy pay programs. We vehemently disagree with her. These were my co-worker’s comments, which brilliantly articulated our position and the negative impact such an action would have on our members.  (more…)

Not All Apps Are a Good Idea

The Waffle House has joined forces with a phone app to help deliver your packages across the country. The idea is that the move will ensure a more cost-effective delivery channel for moving packages around the country. The thought must also be that there is greater safety in the hand-off of goods because the Waffle House parking lot is a great place to conduct business. Hilarious.  (more…)

I’d print the words of the chorus, but then you would remember the melody and for the rest of the day, this little ditty would be stuck in your mind. I’ve been saying, “stick to your knitting” a lot lately. I’ve never took the time to look up the saying — heck, I may even be saying it wrong. My reference to this vernacular from a bygone era must have been buried deep in the recesses of my subconscious. How did it get there? Probably, as a kid, I was eavesdropping on my family’s elders around the kitchen table, and such an utterance made its way to my nosy ears. Anyway, it’s out in full view now — in a big way.  (more…)
