Thinking of 2011

On December 28th, 2010, posted in: Uncategorized by

‘Tis the season when one thinks of the New Year looming right around the corner.  Here’s what I’m thinking for 2011:

  • I’m going to get out my Rams gear and crawl back up on the bandwagon.
  • I am sending in a donation to the St. Louis Cardinals in order that they sign Albert Pujols.
  • I’ll read more books that aren’t business related…John Grisham is a favorite.
  • I like pancakes – I’m going to make that happen more often.
  • Travel with my wife for reasons that don’t include business.
  • Encourage my kids who are in the business of providing grandkids to get going.
  • Keep my weight stable to downward trending. I have for a few years now.  Keep it up.
  • Give more time to an organization that needs hands more than money.
  • I’m going to change up my workout to focus on my core – whatever that means?
  • Dinner out will include at least four new restaurants.
  • Laughter is a great medicine – more medicine please.
  • I’m going to go to the movies at least twice – that’s twice as much as the past two years.
  • I’m going to pray more than ever before.
  • Drink more water and orange juice.
  • Try to wear more cool jeans instead of the ones that make my kids cringe.
  • Tell my friends that I love them and watch them squirm uncomfortably.
  • I’m going to dance like nobody’s watching.
  • Write more.
  • I’m going to be more patient with the folks on the road who drive and shouldn’t be.
  • I’m going to stay up later than 10:00 p.m. more often.
  • Become a tri-athlete – not really! Just seeing if you’re still reading.
  • I’m going to thank a veteran.
  • Continue to not watch anything that even closely resembles “Reality TV.”
  • Watch an old movie.
  • Avoid people that are mean and/or hypocrites.
  • Eat more chocolate.
  • Be a part of a “flash mob.”
  • Keep my old cell phone without any desire to move up in technology.
  • Turn off my phone more.
  • Take more pictures of my kids.
  • Enjoy my “30% OFF” Kohl’s cards more often.
  • Clean out my closet and either wear or give away some of the stuff I find.
  • I’m going to watch more YouTube.

There you have it…have a great 2011!  May you be prosperous, in good health, have a wealth of spirit and a love for life, a passion for what you do and a compassion for your fellow man.
